Idli is a south Indian delicacy popular throughout India. The Idlis are made by steaming the batter consisting of fermented lentils and rice. Most often eaten as breakfast or as a snack, idlis are usually served with chutney, sambhar, or other accompaniments. Mixtures of crushed dry spices, such as milagai podi, are the preferred condiment for Idlis eaten on the go.
Vegeterian sides include the exotic Sambhar , a multitude of Chutnies , Milagai podi , Pickles and various curries / Kurmas and Sagu .Non Vegeteraian sides Chicken , Goat or Fish curry go very well with the Dosa and Idli.
However , please remember – THE SKY IS THE LIMIT to the sides and stuffings that could go with these meals!! Anything you imagine , including your favourite dishes , curries and gravies would go extremely well with a well prepared Dosa or Idli.
